In a presentation by Kyriakos Mitsotakis outlining the ruling bloc’s plan for the 2023-2027 period, he spoke about the … five Greeks. In the first section, called “Production Greece”, he placed issues related to the economy, wage growth, unemployment, growth and investments. In the second category, the so-called “Social Greece”, the agenda related to the daily life of citizens dominates important fronts such as health and education. The third section is dominated by the “digital and green” Greece agenda. In the fourth category, called “Just Greece”, the themes of access, rights, justice and government dominate. Among the announcements related to and dominating the New Democracy Plan for the next four years:
A 25% increase in the average wage over the four years 2023-2027 (from €1,170 to €1,500) and an increase in the minimum wage to €950.
– Increase in salary of civil servants and revision of their pay with effect from January 1, 2024.
– Definitive abolition of pre-tax payment for farmers.
– Tax-free increase of 1,000 euros for families with children from January 1, 2024.
One additional unit reduction in insurance contributions and non-salary expenses.
3% to 4% increase in pensions from January 1, 2024.
– 20% gradual reduction in pretension fee in 2025, 30% in 2026 and abolition in 2027.
– 30% average reduction in life allowances from January 1, 2025.
Emphasis is placed on increasing teachers and educators, new recruits and administrators with increased responsibilities.
– Renovation and modernization of 80 hospitals and 156 health centers, creation of 315 telemedicine units and 25 modern rehabilitation centers.
– Extension of all-day school to 17.30 and extended and strengthened all-day extension for kindergarten and primary schools.
– Adding 90% of the state’s public services to gov.gr.
8% increase in minimum guaranteed income and disability benefits.
– New fire brigade, 500 new personnel recruited, modern amphibious firefighting aircrafts and 5+2 Canadian new type and large size fire engines for the islands.

-2,300 critical infrastructure projects (roads, airports, tunnels, railways, ports, water supply and sewage networks) across Greece.

Increase in number of nurses to 10,000.
– Renovation and modernization of 80 hospitals and 156 health centers, 315 telemedicine units, 25 modern rehabilitation centers
-Construction of 311 new mental health structures across the country.
Extension of all-day school till 17.30 and extended and strengthened all-day extension in kindergarten and primary schools.
-150 model and pilot schools by 2027.
-Increase in salaries of teachers and academics with emphasis on new recruits.
Construction of student hostels to accommodate 8,500 students through PPP.
Provide 650 zero-emission buses in Athens and Thessaloniki—increase the frequency of bus routes and the Attica Metro.
– Maternity allowance for freelancers and farmers is increased from 4 to 9 months at the minimum wage level.
-1.8 billion euros for 137,000 young beneficiaries up to the age of 39 for the new housing policy “My Home”.
An increase of 90,000 places in nurseries and childcare through the “Neighborhood Babysitters” program – 150 new creative employment centers for children have been established – Daycare hours have been extended to 5:30pm – Babysitting and childcare areas have been established in large businesses.

“Fair Greece”
– Acceleration of justice delivery time to the European average (less than 500 days) and liquidation of pending cases.
-Constitutional Amendment (Article 16).
-8% increase in minimum guaranteed income and disability benefits.
-Extension of supported employment to all persons with disabilities – Personal Assistant.
Preventing and combating violence against women (implementation of panic button, support structures for abused women and their children, counseling centers for abused women.
Implementation of the National Strategy for LGBTI+ Equality.
“Strong Grease”
-Total (140 km) fence extension at Evros.
– Organizational restructuring of ELAS – Releasing over 5,000 police officers from non-police duties.
-New fire brigade – Recruitment of 500 new personnel – Supply of modern amphibious firefighting aircraft and 5 +2 new type Canadair and large fire trucks to the islands.
-Greece is upgrading 24 Rafale aircraft, 3 (+1) Belharra frigates and 83 F-16s to the Viper version. 19 projects worth €11.5 billion are underway for the purchase of F-35 aircraft, the upgrade of F-16 Block 50 fighter jets and the acquisition of 3 new naval corvettes.
