New “royal” contract with Trabzonspor or transfer

New “royal” contract with Trabzonspor or transfer

The Trabzonspor administration aims to buck the fiscal austerity policy by proposing a new contract with better wages to Tasos Bakaseta, hoping to “link” the national team captain to Trabzon and erase the transfer marks.

And they expected otherwise in Trabzon this season, that is, in which they will defend the title of Turkish champion, a title they won for the first time last year at this time after 39 years. But it didn’t go well.

Soon, the “Storm” was out of competition for the championship, and it easily ended up being eliminated from European competitions as well. Something that was actually evident from very early on, mainly from the middle of the season.

And this led to changes. In many changes and on many levels. Changed – after the elections – the president, with the succession of Ertugrul Dogan to Ahmet Agaoglu. A change on the bench followed, with league coach Abdullah Afchi stepping down and Croatian Nenad Bilica taking over (after various experiences in this period).

At the same time, it was agreed to reduce the budget. Both…on the go, mid-season and looking forward to the next one. Characteristically, only after the January transfer window was it decided to try to cut 20% by the end of the current season.

Three players were awarded at that time. Of the four loanees on the “Storm” list, there was no discussion of using the buy-out or even extending their loan to any of them, as the two (Gbamin and Univar) had already left, Marek Hamsik announced his retirement. A few days before the action, while the Brazilian defender, Victor Hugo, was finally released.

Decisions – signs to follow the transfer

Streamline efforts that will last into the summer. Not only with releases, but also with sales efforts. And this is where Trabzonspor’s Tasos Bakasetas chapter comes in, captaining the national team alongside Turkish international goalkeeper, Ugurcan Cakir, who realistically believes there can be better performances.

Selling Shakir is considered the most likely scenario, as it is desirable on both sides. He thought something similar would apply to “Baka”. The 30-year-old midfielder’s recent changes to his representative position have been interpreted as a clear sign of his intent to move.

Without showing anything different at the same time on the part of Trabzonspor, besides of course – and at this level – adapting to the new data in terms of its requirements. Last year these ranged, if not at the purchase bounds – €12m – but somewhere close to that.

However, the proposal did not reach Trabzon. This year, with the fact that Baca’s contract expired within one year, Trabzonspor’s prices have been significantly reduced.

Despite this, the latest information – after the “storm” agreed with Baxita’s close friend, Dimitris Korbelis – wants the new president of the Turkish club to seek to “hook up” the 30-year-old midfielder, offering him a new contract, with an increase wages.

The current wages are 1.25 million euros per year, wages that even without an increase will be among the largest in Trabzonspor for the new year.

How much more with the increase that will be proposed (if it has not already been made) for Bacasita which practically reflects the importance he enjoys in the “storm” list, but also the desire of the new administration to make a completely characteristic exception to the new policy of economic austerity that has been implemented actually.

Is it enough to tempt Bacasita? Sources close to the headquarters of Trabzonspor do not hide their optimism, believing that in this way the captain of the national team will be convinced to abandon the search for a transfer to a better league than the Turkish League remaining in Trabzon.

The safest thing in any case is to be patient with judgments and assessments. Summer is just beginning, preparations for the “storm” for the new season begin in a month, while the deal lasts three times. However, it is clear that with this specific action by the management of Trabzonspor, the situation turns into a win for Bacasita.

The context is clearly favorable (or at least more favorable than last year) for him to search for and find a desirable transfer offer, while if that does not become possible he is offered the possibility of extending his contract at better wages and thus effectively. Securing the situation… King in Trabzon.
