Rumor: PS5 Pro will be a ‘beast’ with powerful RDNA3 graphics and more RAM

A few days ago Sony It officially announced the PS5 Slim, which, as we informed you, practically confirms its existence PS5 Pro, which has been rumored for several months. Now adding fuel to the fire is YouTuber RedGamingTech, who is quite well known in PC circles, as he has leaked valid information about unreleased hardware several times in the past.

Well, the leaker has now come to reveal everything he heard about Sony’s upgraded console and its technical specifications. According to his information, Sony seems to be following the tried and tested strategy for the PS4 Pro, keeping the same generation of processor, but with a higher frequency. This of course helps the compatibility a lot.

At the same time, the jump will be huge in graphics, as Sony will be moving to the RDNA 3 GPU architecture. Aside from the additional functions it will support, the new generation is also much better at Ray Tracing. In fact, the PS5 Pro’s graphics card will be much larger in raw numbers, with 60 compute units instead of 36 and a higher frequency of 2.8GHz instead of 2.23GHz.

Sony is rumored to be upgrading the PS5 Pro with more memory too, adding a discrete 2 or 4GB for the operating system, meaning all 16GB of the faster GDDR6 will be available exclusively for gaming.

Below you can see a preliminary comparison between the two models based on what we know so far.

PS5 vs PS5 Pro – technical specifications
