Raiders chief Dan Ventrelle has left the team, and the team doesn’t say why.

The departure was announced by a brief statement from Raiders owner Mark Davis.

“Dan Ventrell is no longer with the Raiders. We will have no further comment at this time,” Davis said in the statement.

This is an unusual way of announcing the departure of a team boss, and raises questions about whether something is going on behind the scenes. Yesterday, another Raiders CEO, COO and Analytics Officer, Jeremy Aguero, Resigned after only seven months on the job. No explanation was given for Aguero’s departure either.

In the past year, several Raiders executives have left the team, including Ventrell’s predecessor as president, Mark Baden. Ventrelle was first introduced as interim president to replace Badain in July, then appointed on a permanent basis.

The Raiders have also fired coach John Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock over the past year. Other than Davis, there was almost a complete turnover with all the key decision makers within the franchise.
