According to meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos, a heat wave and a steady wind will prevail in our country next week.
Mr. Gallianos outlined the long duration of the heat wave, which is expected to last at least ten days.
The latest forecast models show that the mercury could rise further from next Friday, July 14.

High fire risk in the Dodecanese
Due to high temperatures and local northerly winds, the Civil Protection Directorate predicts a high fire risk today in Rhodes, Kalymnos, Kos, Karpathos, Samos and Ikaria. For this reason, it has notified the competent government agencies involved in the service, as well as the regions and municipalities of the above regions, so that they are on increased civil defense preparedness to immediately deal with any fire.
High temperatures were recorded in Greece yesterday
A sign of high temperatures is that yesterday in our country, the mercury reached 38.3 degrees Celsius in Agia Triada Fthiotida, but in Argos it was 38.2. According to records from the network of automated meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens /meteo.gr, temperatures exceeded 35oC at 122 of the network’s 471 currently operational stations (percentage 26%) and 37oC at 33 stations. The average maximum temperature at 471 active stations was more than 32oC and particularly reached 32.5oC which is an indication of high temperature prevailing in the country.
Forecast for tomorrow and Sunday
Generally clear weather prevails over the country. A few patchy clouds over the northern continent, mainly in the afternoon and afternoon, are mountainous.
