The potential beneficiaries of the program are domestic consumers who have electric water heaters installed in their homes (not on the premises), which they would like to replace.

Applications are submitted by natural individuals who were born before January 1, 2006 and are permanently residing in Greece. In order to submit an application, a natural person must:

  • Beneficiaries who have received or applied to receive support to purchase a solar water heater from another fund or financial instrument or from another European or national program such as Save are not eligible.

Support for solar water heaters: the most important term

In order to be able to subsidize the purchase of a new solar water heater, the beneficiary’s old electric water heater must be withdrawn for recycling. By participating, each program beneficiary declares an express acceptance of the obligation to turn over the old water heater to the retailer, from whom he also purchases the new subsidized water heater.

  • A new solar water heater to replace the old electric water heater, only if the old water heater to be decommissioned has a capacity equal to or greater than forty (40) liters.
