Heating allowance: Increasing the new income limits – what are the three categories of beneficiaries

Increased income limits for old beneficiaries, last year limits for new beneficiaries and improved asset standards. This is the new data on heating supportconfirming that iefimerida.

From the start, the Ministry of Finance’s goal has been – and remains – to encourage those who “burned” natural gas last year and – much more – electricity to “burn” oil to warm them this year. Doubling the increasing premium is a strong incentive by financial staff, but along the way it has been found that insurance measures must also be included.

Heating allowance: new data, three categories of beneficiaries

Pending the relevant ministerial decision, the categories of beneficiaries for this year are as follows:

  1. The elderly, i.e. those who received the allowance last year. Those who “burned” oil last year and burned oil again this year will receive the increased allowance.
  2. The elderly, that is, those who received the allowance last year and “burned” natural gas. If they “burned” oil this year, They will receive a double allowance this year.

to caution! For the two categories of old beneficiaries, extended income limits will apply (16,000 euros for singles, 24,000 euros for married people, 3,000 euros more per child), so that they do not lose the entitlement due to increased income.

3. New recipients, i.e. those who will apply for the first time. This is where the insurance policy from the Ministry of Finance came in. They will join last year’s income limits (14,000 euros for singles, 20,000 euros for married couples, 3,000 euros for each child). In essence, the Ministry of Finance is targeting with this step of “burning” electricity for heating last year and they are excluded from the subsidy. They will receive a double allowance this year. According to competent sources, the financial result from its inclusion in the subsidy is neutral, because when buying oil, they pay a value-added tax of 0.28 euros per liter and a value-added tax of 24% (a value-added tax is charged on electricity of 0.0022 euros / kWh and a value-added tax 6%).

Improvements are made to the property standards, so that the allowance is not lost due to the increase in property value. Thus, the limit for unmarried people increases to €200,000, from €180,000 today.

Kerosene for oil burner is also supported

This year the basic allowance rises to 350 euros (from 300 euros last year) and fluctuates according to the special rate (degree days) applicable in each region. These rates remain the same as they were last year, so the new system has begun. The largest amount that can be obtained this year is 800 euros or 1,600 euros for those who are entitled to a double bonus.

Another difference from last year in the subsidy process is that there will be no advance payment of the subsidy to last year’s beneficiaries. The online platform will open in November and the large payment volume will be completed in December.

This year the allowance will also cover those who use kerosene for an oil burner.
