Piraeus port: video of 71-year-old woman rescued

A 71-year-old woman fell into the sea just before her ship left for Paros in the port of Phrae.

“Man in the sea, man in the sea” I heard shouting.” I leave my place and see the woman in the sea with the suitcases. I immediately dive into the sea and swim to where she is. “My hands – my hands” I hear her say to me, I pull the suitcases, I grab her by the waist so she doesn't get out and I put my hands on the life jacket,” said Coast Guard Lt. Ioannis Kevregidis.

It is recalled that just before 5pm on Wednesday (24/4), a coach with tourists from France to Paros arrived at the port of Pires. The tourist tried to grab his suitcase and slipped and fell into the sea.

There the Coast Guard men on every boat, with their quick reflexes, saved her and administered first aid. The French tourist said he was fine and did not want any further medical treatment when he boarded the ship to Paros.
