Lefteris Liutopoulos, who will play in the NCAA in the 2024/25 season, is officially in the arms of Rick Pitino.

What everyone has known for a few months became official on Thursday evening (9/11) as St. John’s University announced the signing of Lefteris Liutopoulos who will wear their jersey starting in the 2024/25 season.

The 17-year-old Decca Academy playmaker is a member of the junior national team, and this year he is participating in his second national championship in which he not only succeeded, but dominated, scoring 20, 25 and 30 points. With a height of 1m.92, Leotopoulos is considered the hottest talent of this era in Greece, while in the EuroBasket U18 tournament held a few months ago in Nis, Serbia, he averaged 14.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal per 28.8 minutes in Seven races.

Lefteris is the best young man in Greece. He understands everything about our offense in terms of movement, cutting and execution” was the statement of Rick Pitino, who will be the young guard under his supervision starting next season. Leotopoulos’ goal, apart from excelling in the NCAA and why not, to find himself in the NBA, is also an academic honor.
