Video: Russian drones hit Ukrainian IRIS-T

Yesterday, Russian sources published on the Internet pictures of a Russian “kamikaze” Lancet drone hitting the TRML-4D radar vehicle. The TRML-4D radar is the main targeting element of the IRIS-T anti-aircraft system that arrived in Ukraine and was reportedly installed near Kiev.

According to sources that are always online, the strike took place near Kherson, to the north of it, at a distance of a few kilometers from the Dnieper, so if this is true, then the Ukrainians moved anti-aircraft guns to the front line, possibly to support it. their aggressive action.

The radar – located under cover in a group of trees – appears to have been damaged, but it’s not complete destruction, but it’s clearly a first for Russia. Other images show an IRIS-T missile launcher being hit, likely at the same location.

These strikes – if confirmed – show that even advanced anti-aircraft missiles are vulnerable to drones, especially if they are close to the front, that is, their reaction is short. After all, no anti-aircraft system – and radar – can remain constantly “on” in real-world conditions.

The radar manufacturer, German Hensoldt, has received an order from Ukraine for 6 more vehicles with the TRML-4D, but none have yet been delivered, so the number of domestic counterparts should be 2-3 at most, accompanying the bombers ceded by Germany.
